Description:
Steven started out in woodworking 35 years ago while studying at the George School, a private Quaker institution in Pennsylvania, under the tutelage of master cabinetmaker Palmer Sharpless. There, Steven became skilled at working with his hands and creating functional, beautiful objects from wood.
"It Came To Me In A Dream"
After months of thought, and sitting down at the drawing board then crumpling up the paper and trying again it gelled, I leapt out of bed at two o'clock in the morning drew my vision, knew I was on the right path and went back to sleep. I have designed and built Houses and Commercial buildings, Fine Furniture, Molding systems, staircases and more, but my dream has always been to design and build boats.
Five years ago one of my patrons asked me what I wanted to build and of course I said boats. He has no real interest in boats but loves wood and has everything he wants so he said OK build me a boat! There was no dead line on the project and I had many other jobs to complete so it allowed me the time to design and redesign.
The first step in the design process is to write a list of criteria for the intended use. The fun, challenging and difficult part is to make it all work seamlessly.

The next step is to plan adjacencies, where what needs to be for best functionality…..
